The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Cannondale Bicycle Corp. of Bethel, Connecticut, has announced a voluntary recall for the following bicycles:
2008 Adventure 2
2008 Adventure 3
2008 Adventure 2 Feminine
2008 Adventure 3 Feminine
These models were sold at Cannondale bicycle dealers from February 2009 through April 2009 for between $600 and $800. The model name is printed on the bicycle's frame, and the suspension fork has the words "cannondale AT35 adventure trail" printed on it. Bicycles equipped with the Rock Shox i-ride fork are not included in this recall.
The recalled bicycles have JD suspension forks from JD Components of
Taiwan, and these forks can lose alignment, forcing the front wheel to
turn unexpectedly. This can cause a rider to lose control of the bike
and potentially result in a crash and possible injury. No
incidents/injuries have been reported.
Consumers should stop riding the recalled bicycles immediately and contact us to arrange for a free repair.
