2016 Cannondale Synapse 7 Sora

Cannondale's Synapse 7 Sora is a quick, comfortable road bike you'll enjoy exploring on. The lively feel of the lightweight aluminum frame and vibration-damping carbon fork is matched by a lightweight Maddux/Cannondale wheelset. Great Schwalbe tires, a crisp-shifting, wide-range Shimano Sora drivetrain that makes the climbs easier, and powerful brakes for speed control are the perfect package for this sweet-riding road machine. Plus, women's specific parts like a Cannondale handlebar and ergonomic saddle keep you comfortable as the miles spin by.

Comments:

If you're new to biking, and looking for an entry level bike with decent components and a low price, this bike is perfect for you. If you're a bit more advanced and thinking you might upgrade the components over time, you won't likely be happy with this bike. 1. The wheel set is heavy. 2. I could never get the brakes right, and the levers were always meeting the handlebars, despite many adjustments. 3. The front brake requires a long-reach brake, this is extremely hard to find if you want to upgrade your brake set. 4. The Sora derailleurs were okay brand new. They shift a bit rough, but they do the job. Only Sora has triple derailleurs nowadays, so you cannot upgrade your derailleurs without updating the entire drive chain. Bottom line, for the price, this bike is really great. The Synapse frame is awesome; the SAVE PLUS stays and SAVE carbon fork make the ride noticeably smoother. The components are good enough for a casual rider and the gear range is great for hills. It wasn't the bike for me, but I would recommend it to an entry level friend. For more advanced riders I would recommend spending $300-$400 more for a bike that comes with 105 components or better.
