I9's spokes don't use nipples, they thread right into the hub to save weight where it really counts—at the rims. The Stan's ZTR 355 29er rims are masterpieces, too. The sidewalls are 2-3mm lower than a standard rim. This makes them lighter, stiffer, more durable and even helps reduce pinch flats.
